Facebook Like Button for WordPress.com

Facebook Like via GetSocial LiveI don’t use facebook myself, but I know a lot of you (and your readers) do, so today I’ve added a new Facebook Like button to GetSocial Live. As always, it’s WordPress.com compatible, but will also work on other websites. What do you think?

Try it:Like This!

You can add the new button to each of your posts, and whoever clicks on it will see the title of the post, a like counter and some pictures of his friends who liked it too.

What else?
GetSocial is totally free. If you like it, please consider a donation. Thanks!

<3Thanks!

Thanks for making this. Is it possible to get the number of likes to show up with the Like button?

    Hi,
Just found this because I want to put a Facebook Like button on my blog posts– but my blog is WordPress.com, not .org, and so you can’t have plugins on .com. I am a moron, though, and am confused by the GetSocial site– is there no way to get just the Facebook button? You have to either have the entire GetSocial toolbar or nothing? Thanks! I’ll check back here for response.

Just a side note request, is it possible for you to make your .png files for the social network icons, so that they have transparent backgrounds? My blogs tend to have darker backgrounds so the buttons really look odd especially when using the Design and Design Mini styles…

Many, many thanks for your tool. I use it (the live one) regularly for wordpress.com and wish you every success.

My only suggestion is the buttons: the sharethis and addthis ones look just a little more up-to-date. Your NEW facebook-like one is great…fully up to date. Could the others not be incorporated similary?

I appreciate everyone wants a different look but standards seem to be emerging.

It might also be good for you to brand yourself with an icon like the green sharethis – boomerand-like one.

      Hi Mark,

Thanks for your suggestions. Are you proposing a single GetSocial button? Because I think that one of the advantages of GetSocial is that it is mostly a single-click service – which makes sharing an item with GetSocial at least 50% easier :)

Anyway, I would love making the GetSocial icons a bit trendier. There are a lot of changes in the pipeline, stay tuned!

I’m really lazy: don’t suppose you could just incorporate the code into the existing string of buttons?
