[October 21, 2009] old school dos software like norton commander
When RAR Archiver (the DOS predecessor of WinRAR) came out, it looked suspiciously similar to Norton Commander. Back then RAR was a killer app from a usability point of view, because other compression utilities like PKZIP (now WinZip) and ARJ still had a command line based interface!

[September 17, 2009] meaning of hebrew name afeka
The word “Afeka” has no meaning in Hebrew. Afeka is a residential neighborhood located in north Tel-Aviv (founded in 1955), it was named after the “Afek Association” (formed in 1943) which allocated land plots in the neighborhood. Most of the neighborhood was built over the Palestinian village “al-Shaykh Muwannis” (founded in the early 19th century). However, this territory is not currently considered a part of the Israeli-Palestinian dispute because it was occupied in 1948 (and prior to 1967).
[September 13, 2009] “getsocial” not working with technorati
Thank you for pointing that out! It appears that some of the changes Technorati made conflicts with GetSocial. It’s ironic actually, because GetSocial is converting everything to web safe strings (this is actually one of the biggest and least known advantages of using GetSocial) but this conversion is what now causing the trouble with Technorati. Not to worry though, a new version is almost ready and a solution has already been implemented. Stay tuned!
UPDATE (September 22, 2009): GetSocial 1.04 is ready.

Great concept, and a funny bit about Afeka
I use your GetSocial application for my WordPress blog and love it [intlnat.com] – today I followed the link to your blog…I read the “SearchBack Blogging” post, but still don’t understand what you mean. Could you elaborate further?
Hi Linda,
First of all, there is a new version of GetSocial that includes Twitter, you can always download the most recent version here! :)
About Searchback:
Every now and then I check my stats and scroll through the incoming search engine terms. Once in a while, I see interesting searches like “How to make a plasma effect in Turbo Pascal?”
Sometimes I feel like commenting on a search or answering someone’s search query, and that’s why I made this page!
For example, the next time someone searches for ““getsocial” not working with technorati”, the answer will be waiting here, on my SearchBack page.
